Automated Sheet & Tube Storage

Get stock off the floor, find the right sheet in minutes, and keep your laser cutting instead of waiting on the forklift. Herochu storage towers and tube racks, supplied, installed and supported across Australia and New Zealand by ILS.

Storage That Keeps Up With Your Laser

A modern fibre laser cuts faster than most shops can feed it. Sheet ends up stacked flat on the floor, edges get damaged, and someone spends half the morning digging for the right gauge. Tube lengths lean against walls. Forklift hours go to hunting rather than moving, and the machine you paid for sits idle waiting on material.

Storage is the part of the cutting cell most shops never plan. Herochu automated towers and cantilever racks get material off the floor, logged by size and weight, and delivered to the loading point when the operator needs it.

How it works

  • Siemens PLC with 15" touchscreen: manual, semi-auto or full auto
  • Load cells at the loading station: every pallet weighed and logged
  • ±2 mm positioning, IP67 sensors
  • Load by forklift or overhead crane
  • Guardrails and light curtains as standard
  • Siemens S7 protocol, ready to link with laser loading automation
  • Core components: Siemens, Omron, Schneider/CHINT, INVT

Herochu Storage Range

Every system is built to order around your sheet size, tier count and floor space, and quoted from a drawing for your site.

S-Series Single Tower – Automated Sheet Storage

A PLC-controlled vertical tower that sits beside your laser. Load sheet once at the weighing station and the system logs, stores and retrieves it automatically, delivering the right material to the loading point. Three sheet sizes, each available at 3,000 kg or 5,000 kg per tier.

S-2412 · 2,400 × 1,200 mm

S-2412 · 2,400 × 1,200 mm

The smallest footprint in the range, for jobbing shops, 2412-bed lasers and tight floor space.

S-3015 · 3,000 × 1,500 mm

S-3015 · 3,000 × 1,500 mm

Built around the most common laser bed in Australian shops. Sits beside a 3015 laser and feeds it directly.

S-6020 · 6,000 × 2,000 mm

S-6020 · 6,000 × 2,000 mm

For large-format lasers, plate and high-volume shops. Ten tiers of full-size sheet in a single footprint.

SD Multi-Row Warehouse – High-Density Sheet Storage

For shops carrying many materials and gauges. The SD-3015 stores 3,000 × 1,500 mm sheet across 4 rows and 18 layers, with automatic traverse bringing the selected sheet to the loading point.

Other sizes we can quote

Sheet from 3,000 × 1,500 and 4,000 × 2,000 up to 6,000 × 2,500 mm; from 6 tiers upward, set by your ceiling height; up to 5,000 kg per tier; single tower, double tower or multi-row, with or without automatic laser loading.

Automated Tube Storage & Loading

For tube laser cells running hard. The operator selects a profile on the touchscreen, and the system lifts the right level and delivers the stock to the loading point. No forklift hunting, no lengths on the floor, and full inventory visibility by profile.

Automated Tube Store

Automated Tube Store

Lift-and-shuttle storage for 6 m stock: 3,000 kg per level, levels and bays built to suit, delivering straight to the tube laser loader.

Vertical Tube Tower

Vertical Tube Tower

A compact tower that stores bar and tube vertically and loads and unloads automatically. The most stock per square metre of floor.

Gantry Tube & Profile ASRS

Gantry Tube & Profile ASRS

For large mixed inventories: a gantry picks lengths from high-density racking and feeds saws, tube lasers and processing lines.

Storage FAQs

How much floor space does a tower save?

It depends on how you store sheet now and how many materials you carry. We measure your current setup on the site walk and show you the before-and-after footprint.

Can it connect to my laser's loading system?

The control system uses the Siemens S7 protocol and is designed to work alongside automated loading. We confirm compatibility with your specific laser before quoting.

Does my floor need work?

Possibly. These systems need a solid concrete slab. Many Australian factory floors are fine; some need reinforcement under the tower. We check this on the site assessment, before you commit.

Can you supply other sizes?

Yes. Sheet sizes, tier counts, rack lengths and level counts are built to suit. Every system is quoted from a drawing for your site.

What's the lead time?

It depends on the configuration. We confirm it in your quote.

Where Does Your Stock Live Now?

Book a 30-minute site walk. We will look at how material moves through your shop today and tell you straight whether automated storage is worth it for your volumes. If it isn't, we'll say so.
