Deburring machines / R, RR

Sheet Metal
Edge Rounding Machines

A laser leaves a clean cut and a razor edge. That edge cuts hands, and it is where powder coat and paint fail first, because coating pulls thin over a sharp corner. Lasvio R and RR machines put a consistent radius on every edge of the part, including contours and internal cut-outs, in one pass.

Lasvio RR sheet metal edge rounding machine with universal rotary brushes

Why sharp edges are a production problem

Coating thins at a sharp corner, so corrosion starts at the edge
Operators and customers handle parts that can cut them
Hand deburring gives a different edge on every part and every shift
Rework when a coated batch fails inspection

R or RR: which one

Both use universal rotary brushes that contact the part from several directions, so straight edges, curves and holes all get the same treatment.

Lasvio R sheet metal edge rounding machine with one rotary brush unit

R

One rotary brush unit

Routine edge breaking and light to moderate radius targets, with fewer consumables to run.

Lasvio RR edge rounding machine with two rotary brush units

RR

Two rotary brush units

A larger or more consistent radius, complex part shapes, or higher throughput.

These machines round edges only. If the parts also carry a cutting burr, look at the BR, BBR and BRB deburring and edge rounding machines, which put an abrasive belt ahead of the brush.

Questions we get asked

What edge radius will I get?

It depends on the material, the brush, the feed speed and whether you run one brush unit or two. If your drawing or coating specification calls for a set radius, tell us the number and we will prove it on your parts before you order.

Does it round the edges of holes and internal cut-outs?

Yes. The brushes rotate and travel across the part, so they reach internal contours as well as the outside profile.

Will it mark the surface?

The brushes do contact the face of the part. On coated or painted work this does not matter. For a visible stainless finish, look at the complete finishing machines, which end with a brushing roller.

Does it remove burrs as well?

R and RR machines round edges only. If the parts also carry a cutting burr, a BR, BBR or BRB puts an abrasive belt ahead of the brush.

Find out what radius your parts can hold.

Send us a few parts and your coating or drawing requirement. We will tell you whether an R or an RR gets you there.
